BACK TO CURSED OBJECTS
As mentioned earlier, we frequently find that certain types
of jewelry can bring curses unwittingly.
Turquoise and silver jewelry made by Pueblo Indians, Hindu copper
bracelets can have demons. The makers of
pieces of jewelry or furniture sometimes pray over them and place a spirit in
them. Practitioners of voodoo and
Santeria use dolls and objects which are used to curse people and houses.
Likewise, thou son
of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of
their own heart; and prophesy thou against them, and say, Thus saith the Lord
God; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon
the head of every stature (statue, or doll) to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of My people, and will
ye save the souls alive that come unto you?
And will ye pollute Me among My people for handfuls of barley and for
pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls
alive that should not live, by your
lying to My people that hear your lies?
saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt
the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let
the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly. Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver
My people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be
hunted; and ye shall know that I am the Lord. Eze. 13:17-21. (Parentheses mine)
Witches use dolls, pillows,
kerchiefs and other objects to capture the souls of men and women. Some will place objects of feathers, bat’s
wings, etc. under a person’s house, nail it to a wall or bury it in the yard of
someone they have been paid to curse. I
have been told that it is a common thing in certain African communities and
sometimes in America and Europe among Latinos and black communities. One pastor friend from New York related that someone nailed a
voodoo ball of feathers and other things to his door one day. He recognized what it was and was able to
pray against it after destroying it. Please
don’t go running around, digging up your yard or searching under your
house. If you suspect something, pray
and ask God to reveal if there is something planted around or in your house.
The above passage makes reference to fortune-tellers who
“prophesy” for money, small though it may be.
Many Christians have gone to fortune-tellers either before or after
being converted to the faith and carry curses upon them because of it. Repent and break those curses!
We have seen a ring that featured a goat’s head – a
symbol of Satan, or a skull and bones.
However, we need to be careful not to be too legalistic and consider all
representations of dragons, for instance, as cursed objects. You don’t need to tear out every page in a
book that contains a photo or picture of a dragon, Buddha or a Hindu temple,
although “how-to” occult books or fortune-telling tomes should be
discarded. You need to ask the Holy
Spirit about certain “border-line” objects and He will reveal it to you.
Japanese love dolls and mothers will often gift their
daughters with a doll dressed in traditional Japanese clothes and encased in a
glass box. Some deliverance workers
report curses caused by cabbage-patch dolls, rock and roll records, tapes or
DVDs (especially heavy metal). I prayed
over a young girl who suddenly stood up and started dancing, with snapping of
fingers and wild gyrations. Her mother
informed me that the daughter had a large collection of heavy metal records and
tapes under her bed. Of course, this was
some time ago, since the modern generation no longer uses records and
tapes. The lyrics to some songs
contained demonic messages or worship to Satan.
Some sneak in words and phrases that are difficult to detect. Demonic phrases can be formed by putting
together every tenth word in a song and pasting them together. The human mind is a marvelous thing and can
process sentences backwards as well as forwards. It has been reported that this “back masking”
technique is widely used. Play some
records or tapes backwards and praise to Satan can sometimes emerge. Vance Packard, in his book entitled Hidden
Persuaders, warned against these tricks of mind control. Sometimes, an ad containing a glass of ice
and whiskey can contain a picture promoting sex or witchcraft, or some scene
can have a hidden message.
Movies or videos can contain suggestive words and
pictures that the mind does not recognize consciously, but is subconsciously
persuaded. Mr. Packard explained an
experiment in which every twentieth frame of a movie contained a picture of
people eating popcorn. The audience was
not conscious of the pictures, but popcorn sales skyrocketed.
A church member, who was an ex-occult practitioner,
claimed that a favorite trick of witches was to pass a black and white
checkered picture quickly in front of certain people that caused their souls to
be opened and vulnerable to demonic invasion.
There is a scene in a children’s movie entitled Roger Rabbit, in which there
was a car race and as the winner crossed the finish line, a black and white
checkered flag quickly moved through the picture. This caused some people to “black out” or
have an epileptic fit, especially children.
Back in the seventies or eighties, there was an epidemic of children
passing out or having seizures when certain cartoons or movies were played in Japan.
A member of our church reported that her five-year-old
daughter ran out screaming from the bathroom, claiming that her doll talked to
her. Martial arts objects and weapons
such as samurai swords, scrolls, darts, stars, fighting sticks, magic scrolls,
good-luck charms, a crucifix with Jesus hanging on a cross, and certain satanic
symbols such as a pentagram, can open the door to demons. A member of my church reported that the new
tenant of a warehouse next to his, claimed that his office was haunted. A few days later, he was totally
panicked. As he was removing a crucifix
with Jesus on the cross, blood started to drip from it and on to the floor. The prior tenant was a Satanist. It is well-known that Satanists use a
crucifix to mock Christians, claiming that Jesus is dead and Satan is alive and
the god of this universe. Bleeding and
crying statues make up part of the lore of the Babylonian religion and many
legends about statues speaking and becoming human can be found. They are idols and cursed objects.
When I was young, I was into kung fu and had martial arts
weapons in my house. When I became
born-again, I threw away all of my objects, martial arts books and
weapons. However, there was a set of
metal darts that I had on my bed stand that had been “blessed” and it was
claimed that if I ever threw one of these darts at someone, he would die. These darts completely disappeared and to this
very day, have not been found, although I have cleaned my bedroom and closet
many times. My sifu, or professor, was a
very mysterious person and is reputed to have been a body guard to Sun Yat Sen,
China’s first president in the
twentieth century. He would give his
prize students a magic charm consisting of “magic words,” called a “hu.” These charms contained the spirits of
warriors assigned to protect the person they are given to.
Martial arts are infested with demonic entities, not only
of violence, murder and pride, but demons disguising themselves as ancestors
worthy of worship. I have many stories
too numerous to mention in this article.
Movies, television, DVDs and YouTube videos contain many
demonic themes and scenes. Even popular
movies such as Star Wars and ET can be used by Satan to indoctrinate and open
minds and souls to the demonic kingdom.
Be careful with what you and your children see and hear. Nowadays, you can hardly view a decent
program on television that is not focused on violence and sex. Satan does not play fair. He is very cunning and has evil ways that you
and I could never dream of. We are like
babes in the woods and if it weren’t for the Holy Spirit, we would not be
